Carbide cutting material for finish turning and milling as well as the boring of the finest holes with very high wear resistance and edge strength as well as good toughness.
Areas of application:
- Grey cast iron, chilled cast iron
- Hardened steel, age hardening aluminium alloys
- Plastics with fillers
- Fibreglass reinforced plastic
- Brake shoe lining
The high wear resistance and edge strength are based on the presence of fine grain tungsten carbide (approx. 0,7 µm average grain size). The toughness and bending strength are improved through an increased cobalt content, through a very regular grain structure and through high temperature isostatic pressing. This type of carbide covers a wide range of applications of the K types.
